Merry Christmas!

It's been a long time since the last post. Gracie is doing great. She is walking, talking and climbing. The only time she stops moving is in her sleep and she moves a little then too. We are getting ready for Christmas and are excited about next year and what's to come. Hope everyone has a great Christmas and New Years.

God is so good!

Life is going good in the Ring house. We finished and moved in our new house the end of May. Gracie went to the doctor on Friday and had an ear infection. Poor thing was so pitiful. She weighed 21 lbs and 4 ozs. It is hard to believe how big she is getting. She is not walking yet but is crawling and climbing on everything. She took two steps yesterday and is getting braver everyday so the walking is not far away. We finally got her wagon out and use it when we go pick from the garden, she loves to ride and would sit there all night.

Happy Birthday!

Well, it has been quite a year like no other... We just had Gracie's birthday party on Sunday and it is still hard to believe that she is a year old already. We had a wonderful day with family rejoicing our sweet blessing. We were able to have the party in our new house even though we are still about 3 weeks out on finishing. She went to the doctor today for her one year check up with Dr. Ervin and was 17 lb and 3 ozs and 26 inches long. Hard to imagine a year ago she was only 1 lb 10 3/4 ozs and 11 1/2 inches long. She is crawling and pulling up on things and flies around in her walker. She loves to say her new and only word, Daddy! She is developmentally around 11-12 months so the doctor is very pleased and we couldn't ask for more. We are truly blessed and thank God daily for our sweet miracle.

Busy start to the new year!

We had a wonderful Christmas. It was so much fun getting Gracie up and opening presents. She loved the shiny paper, next year empty boxes with shiny paper... just kidding :-) We are in full swing building the new house which has all of us busy. Ryan is up there working almost everyday. I am trying not to get overwhelmed trying to pick everything out. In all of this mix Gracie fought a little cold and then I got sick and Ryan had to be Mr. Mom for a couple of days. Gracie's last appointment she weighed 15lbs even. She is around 23-24" long. I just felt her first tooth tonight. She's been drooling and chewing on stuff for a while, I was wondering when it was going to show up. We still are not getting Gracie out which isn't any fun but it will be warm soon and out we will be! She can sit pretty well if you can get her to sit still. I have a feeling she is going to skip crawling and go straight to walking.

It is so hard to believe that it has been nine months since we had Gracie. We have come a really long way from 1 lb 10 3/4 oz to 13 lb 8 oz. The top picture was taken when she was a week old and the bottom was taken on Monday. You can really see the change in her size by the rattle that is in both pictures. We are amazed to see the changes in Gracie recently. She rolls around and we're working on sitting up, still a little wobbly. She can be a real chatter box at times and is developing new tickle spots each day. The sweetest sound on earth is to hear her giggle. I can't help but smile every time I hear it. We are really chowing down on food and hope that we can graduate to the next level at her check-up next week. She is still getting the RSV shots to help keep her from getting a respiratory virus this winter. So far we are doing really good, please pray this will continue. We hope that everyone has a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Years.

Merry Christmas

We are getting ready for Christmas in the Ring house. We finally got the tree up this week, Gracie loves the lights. We had a good Thanksgiving with our family unfortunately Gracie didn't get to go to either family dinner. We took turns staying home with her and going to eat. She won't get to go to extended family dinners for Christmas either. It's hard but in her best interest. She got her second RSV shot last Friday and weighed 13 lb 8 oz! Me and the nurse couldn't believe it. She gained a pound and an ounce in a month. Somebody really likes eating real food. Gracie is currently fighting a head cold and a sinus infection. The doctor started her on antibiotics on Monday hoping that we caught it soon enough and the infection doesn't move in to her chest. We finally broke ground on our new house last weekend. I was hoping to be in the new house by Gracie's first birthday in March but that's just not going to happen. We just hope the house is done by summer. Please pray for good weather and a smooth process, we are really excited! Merry Christmas we hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season!

We had a great Halloween. Gracie was the cutiest Snow White there has ever been but all she wanted to do was eat her dress. After the last hospital stay, the doctor has put us back on "house lock-down" for the winter. This means no more church, stores or large groups. Gracie did get two flu shots and an H1N1 vaccine but it's just too risky to take her out. We need to try to limit her exposure to germs as much as we can. We only get to do the holidays with immediate family which is really hard because of course everyone wants to see and hold her. She is eating all kinds of food now and really loves prunes. It's so funny to see her eat new textures. As you can see by the picture of her in the bed she is turning into our little monkey. She can roll over but mostly just inches around. At her last appointment on the 13th she weighed 12lb 12oz. She is sleeping 10 to 12 hours at night. This has been really nice for mommy and daddy! I can't believe she is going to be eight months old on Saturday. Please keep us in your prayer that Gracie is able to stay well this winter.
